Basic Commands

Every dog should master these foundational commands. Each lesson builds on the last to create a well-mannered, responsive companion.

Pay Attention

In this lesson we will begin our training with a simple command called 'Pay Attention'. This command teaches your dog to give their full attention when their name is called, and can be used in a array of situations such as at home, during naptime, feeding, and even during their everyday walks.

Recall

In this lesson we will be going over training commands called 'Recall' and 'Go to Your Place.' Recall can be a life saving command that every dog should know. You should practice recall on walks, around the house or at the dog park!

OFF

In this lesson we will be teaching the commands Off, Leave It, Take It, and Thank You. This command will teach your dog to take treats gently, and set some boundaries for you and your dog when giving treats.

Sit/Stay

In this lesson we will be teaching Sit/Stay. This technique is really good for when your dog rush out the door, to teach them patience in exciting areas, or just to give a calmer greeting when meeting new people.

Loose Leash Walking

In this lesson we will be teaching the basics of Loose Leash Walking. This will help guide your dog to uphold patience, and prevent pulling, or other behavioral issues that might occur while walking your dog.

Heel

In this lesson we will be teaching the Heel command. Heel teaches your dog to walk calmly beside you while staying focused and responsive. This command is useful during everyday walks, in crowded areas, and around distractions, helping you create a safer and more enjoyable walking experience.

Down

In this lesson we will be teaching the Down command. Down helps your dog settle into a calm position and practice patience and self-control. This command can be used at home, around guests, during mealtimes, or in exciting environments to create a well-mannered, responsive companion.
